![]() I, unfortunately, am stuck with these crooks.ĮMC came out because a tree was struck by lightening and landed on the power line that leads up to my house. I also confirmed with Equifax that their scale ONLY GOES UP TO 850. I have personally never heard of anyone with a credit score at or above 875. According to Sawnee, anything between 700 and 875 requires a $200 deposit. Equifax provides the score, this company determines what to do with it. 670 to 739 are considered good 740 to 799 are considered very good and 800 and up are considered excellent.' I was told by Sawnee Customer Service that Equifax determines what your risk level is and your deposit. According to the Equifax website, 'a credit score is a three-digit number ranging from 300 to 850. I was told that in order to not have to pay a deposit, you have to have at least an 875. I just got the report in the mail and my score was an 833. When I started my service, I was told I had to pay a $200 deposit and I figured my credit score had gone down a bit since I just purchased a home. I was with Georgia Power for 6 years before this and I miss them. ![]() I am a new customer of Sawnee EMC, unfortunately. Totally my fault, but, a real attempt to let me know, calling my actual phone, so I could fix my mistake immediately would have been the right, let alone human thing to do. Speaking with Customer Service, couldn't give me a moment to breathe, let alone figure out why I didnt pay, which I thought I had, just pay now or your cut off. I had assumed was the next bill so was set to be paid 3 days later. ![]() They're only attempt to let me know was to send the bill again, which i didnt realize was a copy of missed bill, with a very indistinguishable squared section telling me of my Cut off date if not payed immediately. No attempt to call me, they only do an email attempt, i didnt have an email on file, told me i could make a payment right now, or cut my power. Totally my fault, however, I didnt learn this until 2 weeks later, as someone showed up at my door to turn off power. The missed payment I latered figured out, I sent to a different vendor while paying other bills. Terrible company, I missed one payment after 3 years of never missing one, in our new house. So far in my experience, it is egregious how they believe they can act with impunity and customers have no recourse. payable, still not heard back or if they called, they didn't bother to leave a VM and way to call back. No emailed receipt of this has been given Placed a call to their acct. To date, no one has given me evidence of what I actually did wrong, only suggested what I could have done wrong. and mentioned 'you could have entered the wrong account information' in their echeck system. He stated he could not give me any details of the transactions due to 'privacy regulations' (it's my information so why not?), said I would need to contact the accounts payable dept. I called my bank and was informed no attempted transaction was made by Sawnee, and no check was bounced. This didn't make any sense, the check acct was not closed and had more than enough funds to cover bill. Only information he would divugle was the ck acct was closed. that it didn't go through, the e check was returned and they were assessing fees. Excellent customer service, competitive rates, and a distribution check to all members annually.Again, wish I could give a higher review, but I can only contrast what we experienced at Sawnee with what we've experienced elsewhere.ĭoes anyone hold Sawnee EMC accountable? Paid by their online echeck system. Communications in this regard was spotty, at best.I didn't realize how annoying that was until I moved to central Florida, and became a member of The Withlacoochee River Electric Cooperative. We never particular were made to feel as if we were members of a cooperative. When we first joined, we were told we would have to wait until we'd been members for 20 years, which they later raised. ![]() But unlike other cooperatives I've worked with, they raised the bar as to when we and other 'members' would be paid dividends. The customer service, for the most part, was very good on some occasions, excellent a few times, lousy many times, average most of the time.Because they're a co-operative, their rates are lower than Georgia Power. Wish I could give them a better review, but frankly, they were a disappointment. My wife and I were 'members' of the Sawnee Electrical Membership Cooperative for 27 years, ending a few years ago.
